Where we are today

Good bones: hardwood, a clean gray platform bed, two windows, ensuite. What dates it: the beaded chandelier (peak boho, ~2021), two mismatched black nightstands that are too small and too low, a rug two sizes too small for the bed, no curtains, art bought last. White IKEA dresser is fine but reads temporary.

Concept A — Warm greige (safe 10-year room)

Mushroom-greige walls, white plaster dome pendant, matching walnut nightstands with linen-shade lamps, 9×12 ivory rug, linen curtains hung near the ceiling, one big landscape over the bed, oak bench. This is the mainstream 'warm organic' look — in every good showroom now and still right in 2032.

Concept A — wide view

Same plan from the door. Curtain rods sit just under the ceiling and the rug runs past the bed on all sides — that's why the room suddenly looks bigger.

TV wall with a slim floating oak shelf under it so the TV isn't floating alone. Closet door closed.

Concept B — Olive color-drench

Walls, trim AND ceiling in one deep olive. Color-drenching peaked in the design press 2024–25 and is now just a normal option. Looks great; bigger commitment, photographs darker. Camera drifted on this one — a color study, not a layout.

Milky blue-gray-sage walls (the 'milky pastels' forecast), organic plaster pendant, rounded white oak, brass rod, chocolate duvet + dusty mauve pillows (2027 bedroom forecast). Walls, oak, plaster and linen are safe; mauve, chocolate and checkerboard are the cheap-to-swap trend layer.

The beige backlash lands: chocolate-plum drench on every surface, alabaster + brass globes, a real Persian rug, oxblood velvet, old oil paintings in gilt, fluted walnut. Fantastic at night; a cave at 7am with kids. Photographs dark.

Samsung Frame TV — with the frame

You already own a Frame TV; the bezel is the missing $100–$250 piece. With a light-oak bezel and Art Mode on, the TV reads as a framed landscape and stops being a black rectangle in every photo. Rendered inside the recommended palette (C's walls + oak, a vintage rug, brass).

TV wall from the bed. One framed screen plus one or two real pieces beside it, so it reads as a wall of art rather than a TV.

Your current style — vintage-eclectic (the good version of boho)

Old oil paintings, dark antique walnut, a real Persian rug, a suzani across the bed, brass, cream plaster walls. Is it out? No — boho is being reinvented for 2026 in a darker, richer, more vintage direction. What IS out is the cheap version: macramé, rattan pendants, beads, mass-market 'global' prints. Real old things never go out; the imitation of them does.
